PHP Web Hosts - Free

Since PHP is my current 'Web Programming Language du jour', I decided to add this new page with some links to the more popular (and stable) Free Web Hosts that offer PHP support.

What do I mean by stable? Well, so many FREE PHP hosts are such scams, collecting member registrations quickly and then predictably announcing Pay-up or Get Lost announcements within a short period of time.

Most of these offer the usual: PHP4, MySQL, CGI bin, POP3 mail and .htaccess etc.

I don't use them - for the obvious 'Pop-upS' reason. It's perfect if you just want to learn about PHP and MySQL; cause believe me, no one is going to be visiting your pages again once they see all those spawning pop up ads!
They're currently having a monthly FREE hosting package giveaway - NO ads even! Do you feel lucky?

I happened to surf-on to their site one day recently. They don't accept new memberships since a long time already and perhaps it will be any day soon when they will open the floodgates again.
Even so, you can submit your email address to be immediately informed when the situation changes.
CoolFreePages
They offer unlimited bandwidth, 50MB space, PHP and MySQL support. Good enough for your average homepage, I'd say.
Still, NO perl CGI, no email, no FP2K Server Exts. and some PHP functions unsupported by the server.
But, if you have your own domain name you can park it here...
F2G
Looks good and (I don't know yet if they offer MySQL support), with NO ads as well. Also, I don't know if they support FP2K, they don't mention it on their web pages. The reason I don't know so much is because, I don't use them - yet!
SpaceTowns
Geez! Why do they all have similar names? Anyway, this is also something to watch out for. They still don't support CGI, PHP or MySQL but supposedly it's part of the plan. Still, they offer other goodies...
