Not a Hyundai Monitor

Can you believe it? Despite my monitor having the name HYUNDAI written all over it, according to the good people at Hyundai, it is NOT a Hyundai monitor!

This is the reply I got from their website at http://www.hei.co.kr:

The model you have is not Hyundai ImageQuest monitor.

Because we never use that model name and FCC-ID for Hyundai and OEM brand. Our FCC-ID starts "CKL*****".

Please check the back label of you monitor. If it marks the manufacturer name on the back label, you can search it on the web.

Thanks and regards,

K.J. Kim.

OK, so it's not a monitor from Hyundai, but doesn't the guy get even the slightest bit curious how a generic monitor gets sold as a Hyundai in the first place?

Well, it's no wonder why I no longer have respect for brand names when buying computer hardware / peripherals. Maybe an exception would be Maxtor / Quantum HDD - they're SO reliable and backed by first class after-sales service.

Back to the monitor - actually, it works well so far and this is the only reason I decided not to pursue the issue all this time.

Anyway, if you ever come across a monitor like this, stay away! From what I gather, it's NOT being only sold as a Hyundai.

So what did you find at the back of the monitor?

Good question... This is what I found, I swear!
