FP2K Unavailable Options

As you will learn to use MS FrontPage 2000, it is only normal that you will start to really push the limits of the program but try as you may, some options will remain 'greyed out' / unavailable.

For example, if you are like me and use a FREE web hosting server like Geocities or Tripod or basically any FREE service, you will almost certainly have the option Security under the Tools menu in FP2K greyed out.

This is because the server (e.g. Geocities) does not allow you to set permissions. So don't think that there's anything wrong with the way you have installed FP2K on your computer! (Before I knew this, I had already re-installed FP2K 3 times! Talk about wasting my time...).

Also, depending on how you set your options under Compatibility in Page Options under the Tools menu, some items will be greyed out too.

That's because some items on your pages may not work in Netscape Navigator and if you set your Compatibility of your pages to include Netscape Navigator, some items such as inserting a background picture in a table is greyed out!
