MS FrontPage 2000
When you use FP2K to design your web pages on a web server that supports FP2K server extensions, you are able to do many cool stuff yourself;
- Message / Discussion Boards
- Hit Counters
- Feedback Forms (or Forms)
- Search Forms
- Use Themes (even create your own)
- Include other html pages into your current html page using the Include component
Of course some of these will end up looking very amatuerish for someone who has been designing web sites and pages for a long time but if you're the sort of person who gets a high from getting things done within the first hour of learning something new - like me, FP2K is the tool for you!
In the hands of someone with a little bit of creativity and talent, a website can look quite professional even if the webmaster has used FP2K.
Some other advantages of using FrontPage
Design your pages to include interactive elements such as rollover effects etc. using DHTML. Nothing to learn really, just point, click and choose from a list of desired actions on an object (i.e. picture, paragraph or text).
FP2K Views
When you use FP2K, you have the option of viewing your work through 3 different views:
Normal: like a regular Word Processor and in WYSIWYG, you can see exactly where everything is laid out on your finished page and point your cursor and click anywhere to edit your page.
HTML: all the html is revealed on this page for those who know how to edit a page directly in html.
Preview: to quickly view how a page would look like on the WWW.
There are of course many more cool things one can do using FP2K, but the above, lists some of the things I need to know that my program allows me to do for the moment.
